Human Resources Assistant-Fairfax, Virginia-PT
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintaining and filing employee personnel data;
Processing correspondence to applicants;
Filing applications from applicants;
Copying forms and other material as directed;
Purging and destroying forms or other department material in compliance with the department’s retention policy;
Assisting with scheduling interviews;
Distributing and posting company memorandums, newsletters and notices;
Complete special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources or Human Resources Administrative Coordinator;
Handling occasional phone volume;
Documenting messages received on the region’s voicemail on the Human Resources Call Log;
Sending birthday cards to employees;
Processing name badge orders;
Assisting the Benefits Coordinator, under the direction of the Human Resources Administrative Coordinator or the Vice President of Human Resources, with projects in the region;
Reviewing HR & Training materials twice a year for updates;
Responding to applicants phone and e-mail inquiries.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
Bachelor's degree with a focus on Human Resources or a related field preferred;
Excellent data entry skills;
Ability to handle telephone calls in a professional and positive manner;
Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook;
Ability to work with highly confidential matters;
Excellent organizational skills;
Minimum of one-year clerical experience preferred.
